Theresa Martinez is the CEO/President of Community Connections, LLC, specializing in

Communications, Community Outreach and Engagement. The team provides a wide range of communications services; public & government relations, media relations, marketing, community & grassroots outreach, social media outreach and management, special event planning, strategic planning, and program management. Community Connections was awarded a contract with Metro for the Vermont Transit Corridor Project, which has the second highest ridership along a ten and a half mile stretch to consider a new bus rapid transit, rail transit system, or both. The team is currently working on several other transportation projects with LA Metro and OCTA

Ms. Martinez served in the capacity as CEO for the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce (LALCC) from April 2013 to November 2016. She oversaw fundraising, procurement, policy initiatives, advocacy work, corporate sponsor relationships, and program infrastructure. 

Prior to the chamber position she was an independent Government/Public/Community Relations/Energy consultant to various clients. She served as an Energy Consultant to Chevron Energy Solutions and contracted over $17M in energy projects, as well as with Ameresco, Inc. an Energy Services Company (ESCo) overseeing energy efficiency projects for California. Clients: Chevron Energy Solutions, E.P. Development, Vista Inc., Refugio Para Ninos, Parking Company of America, McCormick Construction Company, Chase Partners and Delaware North Companies. 


Ms. Martinez also worked in the capacity of Health Care Director for the Orange County Rescue Mission from 2003-2004 and managed a mobile health clinic that served the homeless living in motels and on the streets at 51 locations. 


Furthermore, she served as Executive Assistant for the Orange County Board of Supervisors serving under the Honorable Cynthia P. Coad from 1999 - 2002 and the Honorable William G. Steiner from 1997 - 1998. She was responsible for handling all issues of the Health Care Agency, The Probation Department and the Social Services Agency. Under the direction of the Orange County Board of Supervisors she was assigned to research public policy issues and to advise the Supervisor on public policy, health and social issue decisions on a weekly basis. Her career at the Board of Supervisors began in the Third District with Supervisor Donald J. Saltarelli from June 1996-January 1997 where she conducted research and drafted correspondence and materials. 


Theresa is the founder of the National Latina Business Women Association and current President of the National Board. She was solely responsible for starting seven chapters, six chapters in California; Sacramento, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Inland Empire, Central California and a chapter in Atlanta, Georgia as well as developed a business training program - "The Emerging Latina Program.” 



Theresa is currently Co-chair for The Wall las Memorias, The Bilingual Foundation of the Arts, and The Latino Coalition for Community Leadership. She serves on the SCAQMD-Environmental Justice Community Partnership Advisory Council, and serves as a Community Advisory Board member of The Change Company a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving Latino and African American homebuyers. Additionally, Theresa served as a Board Director of Girls Today Women Tomorrow for three years, a non-profit that
