The future of mass transit is being built today—make sure you and your community are part of it.

Join the Hispanic Coalition of Small Businesses (HCSB) on Earth Day, April 22, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Pomona for a high-impact Sustainability Summit focused on sustainable mass transit, workforce pathways, and small business opportunity.

This year’s summit elevates students, emerging entrepreneurs, diverse workforce pipelines, and local small business owners who are part of—or seeking to enter—the sustainable transportation ecosystem.

Hear directly from public agencies, prime contractors, innovators, and community leaders on:

  • Clean and efficient mass transit solutions
  • Contracting and partnership opportunities for local businesses
  • Career and workforce pathways for students
  • Entrepreneurship and industry entry points
  • AI and innovation shaping the future of mobility

The program also features a spotlight award recognizing a local small business or organization leading in sustainability and community impact.

Come learn, connect, and take action toward a more inclusive, sustainable mobility future. 🌱🚆

HCSB is gearing up for the 2026 HCSB Spheres of Sustainability Summit — and the conversations we’re bringing to the table this year are bold, real, and built around the future Californians deserve.

This year’s theme, The Power of Mass Transit in Sustainable Communities, puts a spotlight on the systems, people, and technologies that make sustainable mobility more than a buzzword — they make it a lived experience.

Here’s what attendees can look forward to:

Panel 1: The Future of Sustainable Mass Transit in California

Moderator: Rick Duarte, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; Construction & Engineering Sustainability Program Manager Business Outreach/Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

Not just “greener buses” — we’re talking about statewide vision, climate resilience, equitable access, and the big shifts needed to redefine how Californians move.

Panel 1:

1. Antonio Castelan, Brightline West

2. Roland Cordero, Foothill Transit

3. (name TBD), East Side High School

4. (name TBD), Southern California Edison

Panel 2: Local Small Businesses Powering California’s Transit Ecosystem

Moderator: Ana Gonzalez, Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice, Executive Director

Behind every route, station, and service are local businesses that keep transit running. This panel lifts up the suppliers, contractors, and innovators whose work often goes unseen — but is essential.

Panel 2:

1. Catrina Lennier, McCarthy Building Companies

2. (name TBD), Ontario Airport

3. Mike Leyva, Steve’s Towing

Panel 3: AI in Transit — Innovation That Drives Opportunity

Moderator: Nicole Ramos, Omnitrans, Director, Marketing & Communications

From predictive maintenance to safer streets to workforce transformation, AI isn’t the future of transit — it’s the present. We’re exploring how innovation can expand opportunity rather than replace it.

Panel 3:

1. Mairany Anaya, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority

2. (name TBD), San Bernardino Valley College

3. (name TBD)

California’s sustainability goals demand collaboration, fresh ideas, and real commitment. These panels bring all three. The 2026 HCSB Spheres of Sustainability Summit is more than a discussion — it’s a call to action.
