STEVEN FIGUEROA

Board Member

Owner/Principal, Figueroa Community Consulting (FCC)

Education & Housing Advocate

Steven Figueroa has been serving the community his entire life. Steven established Figueroa Community Consulting, “FCC” in 1992. Working on his first political campaign at age 9 (a Paramount city council race), he learned that if you want change, you have to be involved. Steven assists many small and diverse businesses in Community and Government Relations and is an advocate for education and fair housing.

Steven’s expertise has been earned from his work experience in public and private sectors and activities: the labor movement and serving as a union shop steward; supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service; realtor and tax preparer.

As part of FCC and as an Education Advocate in the community, Steven has assisted thousands of Families with Children with Disabilities and currently advocates for over 200 families, along with conducting educational workshops and seminars for such families. Steven also is advocate on housing issues and has been instrumental in securing CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) commitments from banks and stopping redlining in our communities.

Though Steven is disabled and suffers from severe chronic heart failure and neck and back injuries, he has not let his disabilities define him. Currently, he serves as President of the Inland Empire Latino Coalition. Steven is on Board for California Community Builders, the California 200, the Hispanic Coalition of Small Businesses (HCSB), serving on the Education, Housing and Workforce Committee. He was on the Latino PBS TV show in San Bernardino/Burbank. Among his many past roles, Steven is proudest of serving from 1994 to 2003 as the vice president of the Mexican American Political Association Voter Registration & Education Corp. He also has served as Advisor to the Chair of California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, the National Latina Business Women Association Inland Empire, and the Disability Rights and Legal Center Inland Empire.

Steven has received many awards and recognitions over the years for his community involvement.
