33‑Year School Counselor & Educator
(LAUSD)
Born and raised in East Los Angeles, Diana is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants whose street‑vending roots inspired her to build Mexichic Crafts, the first Chicana luxury leather brand from East L.A. Her bold, colorful designs celebrate cultura, artesanía, and alegría.
As a longtime school counselor, Diana has guided generations of East L.A. youth — and her educator heart is at the center of every mercado she builds, including hiring students to help with her businesses. Her nonprofit collectives create economic opportunities, safe spaces, and business pathways for women, youth, and LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs.
Her mercados have grown into boutiques, galleries, makerspaces, and community hubs across Montebello, El Sereno, and El Pueblo — all part of her mission to uplift local families and build a renaissance movement in East L.A.
