PATTI OQUENDO

Member of the Mitla Café family

Rochelle Oquendo is a lifelong resident of San Bernardino and a member of the Mitla Café family, a restaurant founded by her grandmother Lucia Rodriguez in 1937. She completed her career in as a medical lien claimant and legal services representative in 2013. Since then, Rochelle has been a supporting manager and cook for Mitla Café, helping the owners with daily responsibilities and (finally) learning the delicious recipes that distinguished her family’s restaurant for over 85 years.

She is a proud graduate of Pacific High School (go Pirates!) and completed her associate degree at San Bernardino Valley College (go Wolverines!) and Bachelor of Arts in Business at California Baptist University (go Lancers!). Rochelle also volunteers with her church group’s street ministry program, providing meals and toiletries to residents on San Bernardino’s westside. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and is a die-hard Los Angeles Clippers fan
