Southern California Edison (SCE) is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States and a longtime leader in renewable energy and energy efficiency. With headquarters in Rosemead, Calif., SCE serves more than 15 million people in a 50,000 square-mile area of central, coastal and Southern California. SCE has provided electric service in the region for more than 130 years.


Robert Quintero manages Government Relations at SCE, comprising three regional teams that represent the company before local, county, and tribal governments. He also manages civic outreach activities in those jurisdictions. Previously, he led the Northwest Region team in Government Relations, responsible for the northern portions of SCE’s service territory.

 

Before returning to SCE in August 2012, Robert served as senior vice president of Transtech Engineers, Inc., a municipal and land development civil engineering firm serving the public sector. Prior to joining Transtech in October 2005, Robert worked for SCE as a region manager in Local Public Affairs. He represented the Port of Long Beach – one of the largest commercial ports in the world – and various cities, including Long Beach, the fifth largest city in California. Robert began his SCE career in April 2001.

 

Previously, Robert served the City of Commerce in several roles related to Public Services/Public Works. He represented the city at the state Capitol as an advocate on legislative matters concerning land use, transportation, gaming, and public works.

 

Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a master’s in business administration for the University of Redlands. In 2019, Robert obtained a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University.

 

Robert enjoys snowboarding, traveling, RVing, cycling, and racquetball. On occasion, he can be seen enjoying a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
